Shri Shyamendra Singh
Managing Director

Shri Shyamendra Singh hails from Nagod in Madhya Pradesh and was raised on a farm bordering the rich jungles of Central India. It was in these forests that his love for nature and wildlife first took root. At the age of five, he was sent to Welham Preparatory School in Dehradun, followed by his schooling at Mayo College, Ajmer. After graduating from Bhopal, he explored diverse professional avenues, including hospitality, sales, and advertising. However, his true calling led him back to the wilderness.

He established his first wildlife lodge in Panna, a region close to his heart, and went on to co-found Pugdundee Safaris, now one of India’s leading responsible tourism companies. With over 40 years of experience in the field, Shri Singh remains deeply committed to sustainable wildlife tourism, conservation, and eco-friendly farming practices that respect the land and its ecosystems.

What sets Shri Shyamendra Singh apart is his unwavering dedication to community empowerment. Believing that conservation efforts are incomplete without the inclusion of local communities, he has consistently worked to create dignified livelihoods for people living near protected areas. Through employment, training, and skill-building programs at his lodges, he has helped local youth and families gain meaningful opportunities while fostering a sense of ownership and pride in their natural heritage. His initiatives in sustainable agriculture further promote harmony between people and the environment.

Today, Shri Shyamendra Singh continues to inspire with his holistic approach—bridging nature, people, and purpose. His life’s work is a testament to how conservation and community development can go hand in hand to create a lasting impact.
